What to look for at APTA Combined Sections Meeting Feb 8-11

As a Strategic Business Partner of the APTA and Partner in Research for the Foundation for Physical Therapy, Thera-Band® and Biofreeze® products are proud to participate in the largest national meeting for physical therapy next week. The American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting will take place February 8-11 in Chicago and bring together members from the variety of specialty Sections that make up the APTA.
Thera-Band products will be used in 2 pre-conference workshops on Wednesday, February 8. Director of Thera-Band Academy, Dr. Phil Page will be co-presenting a pre-conference workshop, “Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization and Athletic Performance” with Academy speaker, Clare Frank DPT. Sports PT Section Vice President Rob Manske DPT will be presenting “Test, Don’t Guess; Treat and Assess: The Art and Science Behind the Hands-on Examination and Treatment Strategies for Selected Shoulder and Knee Conditions.”
As usual, the Thera-Band/Biofreeze booth will be in the exhibit hall in Booth 822. Be sure to stop by and try out the new Thera-Band Foam Rollers and Wraps+ and Roller Massager+!

Cervicogenic Headaches webinar now available for FREE

Recently, Dr. Phil Page presented a webinar on an evidence-led approach to managing cervicogenic headaches. In his presentation, Dr. Page discusses the symptoms and treatment of cervicogenic headaches, including modalities, exercise with Thera-Band® elastic resistance, and other manual therapies. Thera-Band Academy–China is launched with 20 new trainers

20 physical therapists and physicians from mainland China recently completed a Thera-Band “Train the Trainer” workshop in Nanchang, China. Check out photos on our Thera-Band Academy Facebook page. Thera-Band Scientific Advisory Board member, Yuling “Leo” Wang PT will lead the Academy’s efforts in China. Dr. Phil Page led the training in Nanchang, China.
“We hope to promote research and education for Thera-Band in mainland China through continuing education to professionals and to PT students in undergraduate curriculum,” said Wang. Thera-Band featured in Asian workshops and Olympic Teams

Academy director Dr. Phil Page recently gave 3 workshops on the Janda Approach to Muscle Imbalance featuring Thera-Band® products in South Korea and China. See pictures from the workshop on our Thera-Band Academy Facebook page.
40 South Korean physical therapists attended a 2-day workshop at Korea University Physical Therapy School in November to learn how to evaluate and treat Janda’s muscle imbalance syndromes. Thera-Band products including elastic bands, stability trainers, and balance boards were demonstrated. The workshop was sponsored by the Korean Society for Sports Physical Therapy and Naum Care, distributors of Thera-Band products in South Korea. Check out more photos on the KSSPT website here.
Following the workshop, Dr. Page toured the Korea Sport University and Olympic Training Center, where the Korean Olympic team uses Thera-Band products. Lead physical therapist for the Korean Olympic Team, Dr. Jehoon Lee is also an instructor for Thera-Band Academy.
At the Beijing Sports University, 100 sports physical therapists and trainers attended a 1-day workshop on November 8 featuring Thera-Band products. Dr. Page then toured the Sport Science Research Center, which uses Thera-Band products for Chinese Olympic athletes as well.

New Thera-Band Academy Instructor in Chile

Andreas Sutter and Phil Page
Thera-Band Academy is proud to welcome physiotherapist Andreas Sutter in Santiago, Chile as the newest instructor for Thera-Band Academy. Andreas came to Santiago from Switzerland, where he worked with Thera-Band expert Caius Schmidt and exercise ball guru Klein-Vogelbach.
Dr. Phil Page recently trained Andreas to provide Thera-Band workshops and seminars for the Academy. We are honored and happy to have Andreas on our education team! Watch for upcoming Thera-Band seminars in Santiago. Welcome, Andreas!
